Approach

Trauma-Informed

I prioritize safety, choice, and collaboration in the therapeutic relationship. I recognize how past experiences — particularly trauma — can shape your relationship with your body, food, and sense of self, and I work gently and respectfully to support healing at your own pace.

Depth-Oriented

I help you explore the relationship between the unconscious and conscious, with the goal of bringing hidden parts of yourself into awareness. This integration can ease emotional distress and help you live with more clarity and self-understanding.

Existential

My practice is grounded in an existential approach, supporting you in developing a sense of responsibility and meaning through greater awareness and acceptance. We’ll explore how your personal freedom, values, and search for purpose can guide your healing and growth.

Anti-Diet

I use an anti-diet, weight-inclusive approach to help you move away from restrictive eating and body shame, and toward a more trusting, respectful relationship with food and your body. This work rejects diet culture and supports well-being at every size.

I understand that you want to feel at peace in your body and more in control of your relationship with food. In our work together, I will learn about your life experiences, emotions, and beliefs—and how they may be shaping the way you relate to eating and your body today. I also recognize that disordered eating is often rooted in past trauma, and I take a trauma-informed approach to gently explore and address those deeper wounds. Together, we’ll uncover and shift unhelpful patterns, while also exploring new ways of coping and caring for yourself. You are a capable person with your own inner wisdom, and my role is to help you reconnect with it. Struggling with food and body image can feel overwhelming—but counselling can help.

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your feelings and concerns around food, body image, and dieting—especially those that may feel hard to talk about elsewhere. My approach honors the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and I tailor the methods I use to support your journey toward body acceptance, healing from diet culture, and building a healthier relationship with food and yourself.
